The table below shows the results of elections to the London County Council between 1889 and 1961.
The London County Council, which covered the area now known as Inner London, was created in 1889 and was replaced in the 1960s by the Greater London Council which covered the modern Greater London region.
Until the 1920s, Liberal councillors ran as Progressives rather than as Liberals. At the same time, Conservative councillors ran as Moderates (1889-1904) or as "Municipal Reform" (1907-1937) well into the 1930s.
